Help young skiers build skills, confidence, and a love of the mountain.
Role details
Location: Kirkwood Mountain Resort, on site
Employment: Full-time seasonal, hourly, non-exempt
Pay: $25–$30 per hour, depending on experience
Travel: Up to 50%
Housing: Eligible for employee housing
Reports to: Athletic Director, working with the Program Administrator
What you’ll do
Put athlete and staff safety first, run safety briefings, and follow KSEF policies.
Lead Jr. Devo coaching, build skiing fundamentals, and introduce young athletes to racing.
Assess ability, endurance, and social and emotional readiness for group placement. Set individual goals and share progress with families.
Keep athletes, parents, coaches, and administrators informed. Follow KSEF’s media and social media policies.
Work with the Program Administrator on payroll, expenses, and the team budget. Maintain training, attendance, and race records.
Support local Kirkwood races, the Tahoe Parallel Race Series, designated races, and age-group championships.
Plan fun learning activities that help athletes enjoy the team and the sport.
Qualifications
U.S. Ski & Snowboard Level 100 certification or higher.
Youth ski coaching experience, preferably with ages 6–9.
Strong leadership, communication, and organization.
Current knowledge of ski technique, training methods, and youth racing standards.
Professional conduct, care for athlete well-being, and the ability to encourage young skiers.
