Breaking Ground on the Future: KSEF's New Race Building Takes Shape!
The Reut (Chair 11) and Short Spoke - Home to the New KSEF Race Building
We are thrilled to announce that the contract has been signed, and construction of the long-awaited KSEF Race Building is officially underway! Set to be completed for team use in FY2025–2026, this exciting new space will be a game-changer for our program.
This two-story, 1,000 sq. ft. Race Building will serve as the central hub for our athletes and coaches, providing much-needed space for gear storage, race timing, ski events, and team headquarters. Located at the bottom of Short Spoke, the new building will replace the two aging shacks we've relied on for years. With a clear view of the racecourse, coaches will have an ideal setting for on-the-hill video review sessions, leading to better training and improved athlete performance. Additionally, the dedicated and organized space will allow for more efficient training course setup, streamlining operations and elevating the overall experience.
The KSEF Race Building will be constructed by the Kirkwood Mountain Resort Mtn Ops team, under the expert guidance of Quince Buckley (aka Q), known for his meticulous and reliable work on high-elevation construction projects.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Anne-Flore and Kirk from Ecosense Designs and Response Structural Engineers for bringing our vision to life. Their partnership has been instrumental in turning this dream into a reality.
