Get your lift access
Every camper needs one of these three passes, or a multi-day Kirkwood lift ticket that covers every camp day. Kirkwood Mountain Resort and Epic sell them, not KSEF.
Check the blackout dates. The Tahoe Local Pass does not work December 26 to 31, 2026. That knocks out five camp days, December 26 to 30. Check camp dates with our Program Administrator, Dana Keith, before you buy a pass or a Kirkwood lift ticket.
Spend the break on the mountain
Spend the school break skiing, learning, and making friends at Kirkwood. KSEF coaches lead small, ability-based groups through all-mountain skiing, drills, and progressive gate training. Experienced racers sharpen their skills. Strong skiers get a real taste of race-team training.

Skills needed before camp
This is not a beginner camp. Campers must:
Load and unload chairlifts independently.
Ski off Chairs 5, 7, and 11 without assistance.
Link turns on blue terrain.
Stop on their own.
Still working on these skills? Ask us about a path through Kirkwood's Ski and Ride School.
A day on the mountain
Coached skiing builds balance, turning skills, edge awareness, and racing technique. Campers explore terrain that fits their ability and build confidence in the gates.
Coaches supervise campers all day, breaks included.
Equipment
Bring equipment suited to your skier's level, and ask KSEF coaches about fit and specs before you buy.
All-mountain or multi-event race skis, generally forehead length. Skiers ages 6 to 9 may use all-mountain carving skis, chin to forehead length. No twin tips.
Properly fitted ski or race boots with suitable flex.
Poles of the correct length.
A MIPS helmet with a chin or face guard that meets current safety standards, worn at all times.
Goggles, waterproof gloves or mittens, and layers for changing mountain weather.
