We're hitting the trail this summer! Join KSEF for our first official hike of the season on the beautiful Lake Margaret Trail, just off Highway 88 near Kirkwood.

📍 Lake Margaret Trail, El Dorado National Forest | Meet at the Trailhead
Length: 4.7 miles (out & back)
Elevation Gain: 554 ft
Estimated Time: ~1 hour 56 minutes
This scenic trail is a local favorite, known for its wildflowers, lush meadows, crystal clear creeks, and the stunning alpine lake at the end. While generally considered moderate, hikers will navigate some rocky sections, granite slabs, and a creek crossing.
This is a fantastic way to kick off the season with fresh air, team-building, and a little pre-season conditioning. We'll use this time to build strength, stamina, and connection as we gear up for winter.
What to Bring:
Pack the essentials—water, snacks, lunch, sunscreen, and a hat—and be sure to wear comfortable, sturdy footwear suitable for a mountain trail. We will have lunch at Lake Margaret once we make it.
Open to all athletes registered for the upcoming season.
Parking is limited, so we recommend carpooling. We'll send out more details about timing and meeting spots as the date approaches.
