Athlete Spotlight: The Sky's the Limit for KSEF’s Owen Seymour!

This year's U14 scene saw the explosive arrival of Owen Seymour, a young KSEF athlete who didn't just participate – he dominated. With a potent blend of raw speed, impressive skill, and unwavering determination, Owen made his mark across every discipline, leaving a trail of impressive results in his wake.

Owen's season reached a thrilling crescendo with his qualification for the U14 Regionals and an invitation to the prestigious Western Region Speed event at the Palisades Tahoe. 

When asked about his incredible year, Owen's response was refreshingly simple and perfectly captured his spirit: "I skied fast and had fun." 

But Owen isn't resting on his laurels. He's already laser-focused on the future, setting ambitious goals for the upcoming season: competing at —and winning — the renowned Whistler Cup!

Let's take a look at some of the highlights that made Owen's first year as a U14 so unforgettable:

Slalom:

• Rasmussen Classic Open – 1st Place

• Western Region U14 Championships – 5th Place

Giant Slalom:

• CA Challenge Series @ Palisades – 1st Place & Hard Charger Award

• FW U14 Championships @ Palisades – 2nd Place

Super-G (Super Giant Slalom):

• FW Super-G Finals – 15th Overall / 1st for U14s

• CA Challenge Series @ Northstar – 2nd Place

Beyond these stellar individual performances, Owen's consistency and talent shone through in his overall rankings:

Additional Awards & Rankings:

• Far West Season Overall: 2nd Place

• U14 Regionals Overall: 8th Place

And on the national stage, Owen's exceptional abilities truly stood out:

National Rankings:

• 1st in Super-G

• 3rd in Giant Slalom

• 3rd in Slalom

The entire KSEF and Far West community is incredibly proud of everything Owen accomplished this season. His hard work, unwavering focus, and the pure joy he brings to the mountain are truly inspiring to witness.
