Sunshine, Smash Burgers, and Community: KSEF's Unforgettable Kick-Off at Caples Lake!

KSEF Caples Lake Team Day - August 30, 2025

What an incredible way to launch the season! A huge and heartfelt thank you to our amazing KSEF community for making our Kick-Off Day at Caples Lake an absolute success. With the sun shining on sparkling water, the energy from nearly 60 athletes, families, and coaches created the perfect atmosphere to connect and celebrate before the snow flies.

The afternoon was a blur of laughter and adventure. From the captain’s seat of the pontoon boat to the steady glide of kayaks and paddleboards, everyone found their own way to soak in the stunning beauty of the High Sierra. It was a powerful reminder that while we are a ski team, our community thrives both on and off the mountain.

These are the moments that truly matter. The connections made on the docks and the teamwork seen on the water are the foundation for everything we do this winter. This pre-season bonding builds the trust and camaraderie that will fuel our athletes through every training session and race day ahead. We are thrilled to carry this positive momentum into the season.

And what better way to cap off a perfect day than with a fantastic meal? The sizzle of smash burgers (and those incredible grilled onions!) on the grill was the perfect soundtrack to an afternoon of new friendships and shared stories.

This unforgettable day would not have been possible without our gracious hosts. A special thank you to Caples Lake Resort and to Mike, Gwen, Paul, and the Cooks for their incredible support and hard work in making everything run so smoothly.

Thank you again to everyone who came out. Your energy and enthusiasm have set the stage for what is sure to be a phenomenal season. Let the countdown to winter begin!
