It’s Time to Train: Pre-Season Dry Land Conditioning

The mountains may still be waiting for winter’s first blanket of white, but the work to be ready for ski season starts now. Every great ski season begins long before the first bullwheel spins—and that’s why we’re inviting all Kirkwood Ski Team athletes to join our Dry Land Ski Conditioning program starting Thursday, September 18th at South Tahoe CrossFit.

This program is built specifically for Kirkwood athletes to enter the season strong, fast, and resilient—both physically and mentally.

Why Train Now? Ski racing and freeriding push your body to the edge. Strength, balance, agility, and endurance are non-negotiables if you want to ski your best and avoid injuries. Pre-season training is where champions are made—it’s about building the foundation that lets you rip harder, recover faster, and stay healthier all season.

Our dry land sessions focus on four key areas:

Strength: Building power in legs, core, and full body.
Cardio Conditioning: Ski-specific workouts that mimic mountain demands.
Mobility & Flexibility: Injury prevention through stretching and movement.
Mental Training: Focus, resilience, and race-day readiness.
