Building Momentum at KSEF: Board Progress & Exciting Updates

Dear KSEF Community,

Over the past several months, the KSEF Board has been hard at work, laying a strong foundation and charting a clear path forward for our organization. With our eyes firmly on the future, we’re excited to share the progress we’ve made—and the steps we’re taking—to ensure our beloved Foundation thrives for years to come.

Strengthening Our Governance: We’ve engaged Charitable Allies, a respected 501(c)(3) Non-Profit legal firm, to help us update and modernize our original 1984 & 1986 Bylaws. This crucial process will enhance transparency, accountability, and overall effectiveness. We’re actively exploring thoughtful governance improvements, such as introducing term limits and implementing staggered board terms, to foster continuity, stability, and fresh perspectives. As part of this ongoing audit, we are committed to ensuring future Board members inherit a solid foundation and roadmap to sustain our growth, core values, and meaningful community impact.

Athletic Director Recruitment: Investing in Excellence: The search for our new athletic director is ongoing! KSEF has engaged a national-level recruiter to help us find visionary leadership to drive our athletic programs forward. This new role is critical to building our competitive edge and elevating the KSEF experience for all athletes and families.

Strategic Planning: Laying the Groundwork: Our Board has begun robust strategic planning for FY25/26, looking 3–5 years ahead. Together, we’re aligning on strategic imperatives that will reinforce the core of our program, attract and retain high-calibre coaching talent, and expand our curriculum. We plan to release an initial draft of our Strategic Plan over the summer. We are focused on: Deepening and Enriching our Curriculum, Investing in our Coaches, Strengthening our Communication, and unwavering dedication to the KSEF Community.

Budgeting for a Strong Season: The budgeting process for the FY25/26 season is well underway. We’re right on schedule and confident we’ll have a comprehensive, fiscally responsible budget package ready for approval in advance of the new fiscal year.

Join Our Board as Treasurer: We are actively searching for a dedicated individual to serve as Treasurer on our Board. This role is pivotal to our financial health and success. If you're interested or know someone who might be a good fit, please visit the KSEF Board Page or contact us directly at Board@Kirkwoodskiteam.com.

Monthly Newsletter Officially Launched!: Communication is key, and we're excited to announce that our monthly KSEF Newsletter has officially launched today! This newsletter will keep our entire community informed, inspired, and deeply connected to all the exciting developments and activities happening within KSEF—your Foundation.

Events & Fundraising: Be a Part of Something Special: It’s time to reimagine what we can accomplish when we all come together - KSEF relies on the time and energy of its community members to be successful. Our Events & Fundraising Committee, co-led by Michael Campbell and Scott Fair, is seeking enthusiastic volunteers. If you're excited about giving your time and energy to shaping memorable events and making an impact on the KSEF community, please connect with us at Board@Kirkwoodskiteam.com.

Coaches Matter: Listening & Growing Together: We're actively engaging with our dedicated FY24/25 coaching staff. We believe every coach should have a voice in shaping the future of KSEF. We’re actively listening to their aspirations, goals, and valuable suggestions to ensure our coaching team continues to thrive and excel.

Thank you for your ongoing trust, patience, and dedication. My door is always open, and I encourage each of you to reach out directly with any questions, thoughts, or ideas.

Warm regards,

Coop
